Tata Sierra EV & Petrol SUV Launching Soon – Full Details

For Indian car lovers, the name Tata Sierra EV is pure nostalgia. Now, Tata Motors is bringing back this iconic SUV in a brand-new avatar. What makes it more exciting? The company will first launch it as an electric SUV in early 2026, followed later by petrol and diesel versions.

EV First, ICE Later

Tata Sierra EV

Tata Motors showcased the production-ready Sierra at BMGE 2025, and since then, test mules have been spotted multiple times on Indian roads. This clearly shows that the brand is sticking to its promised timeline and the launch is just around the corner.

Bold and Modern Design

The upcoming Tata Sierra carries a fresh yet familiar design. Expect a wide horizontal grille, slim LED headlamps, a full-width LED light bar, and sporty bumper cut-outs.
At the rear, the SUV looks upright and premium with a flat tailgate, connected taillamp strip, roof spoiler, and sculpted bumper. A floating roof design with a black contrast finish, panoramic sunroof, muscular wheel arches, and flush door handles further enhance its road presence.

Range and Powertrain (EV)

Though official specs are yet to be revealed, reports suggest that Sierra EV will borrow the dual-motor setup from the Harrier EV. This means it could offer all-wheel drive and a driving range of 500+ km on a single charge.

Tech-Loaded Interior

Inside, Tata Sierra will feature a futuristic triple-screen setup:

  1. 12.3-inch central infotainment display
  2. 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster
  3. 12.3-inch driver display

On the features side, expect Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera system, ventilated seats, and a host of premium comfort and safety tech.

Petrol & Diesel Options Too

After the EV, Tata will also roll out the ICE versions of Sierra. Engine options may include:

  1. A new 1.5-litre turbo petrol (168 PS, 280 Nm)
  2. The familiar 2.0-litre diesel (170 PS, 350 Nm)

Both engines are likely to be offered with 6-speed manual as well as 6-speed torque converter automatic gearboxes.

Why Is It Special?

The Sierra is not just another SUV – it is an emotion for Indian buyers who remember the original 90s model. With modern technology, futuristic design, and multiple powertrain choices, the all-new Tata Sierra is set to win hearts once again.
